AmCham October Monthly Meeting will discuss Mongolia's preliminary economic performance in 2023 and the forecast of the economic and business environment in 2024
Mongolia's economy is projected to accelerate to 5.2 percent growth in 2023 from 4.7 percent in 2022 as mining and exports expand and the post-pandemic recovery in services continues. Economic growth is expected to accelerate to above 6 percent in 2024-2025 as mining production increases. According to the ADB's recent report (September), economic recovery continued through the first half of 2023. GDP expanded by 6.4% year over year, driven by robust external demand following reopening in China, and consequently revived domestic demand. There will be a parliamentary election in June 2024, which is very crucial in the development of prudent policies that will grow the Mongolian economy for the next 4 years.
