May Monthly Meeting: Breaking the Cycle of Corruption
AmCham Mongolia is pleased to invite you to May Monthly Meeting: Breaking the Cycle of Corruption featuring MP and Chairman of Legal Standing Committee of Parliament B.Enkhbayar; Country Representative of Asia Foundation Mark Koenig; Independent Advisor of Transparency International D.Tegshbayar; Founder of Sant Maral Foundation L.Sumati; and a moderator Gary Biondo, chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia to discuss around the topic of corruption and how it is affecting the business climate.
Corruption is a major challenge to democracy and the rule of law. It results in decisions and resource allocation that do not reflect the interests of the public and concentrate political power in the hands of the few. It discourages investment, limits economic growth, and alters the composition of government spending. Corruption is certainly a global problem faced by the world nations, but the negative impact in emerging economies is much higher, including Mongolia.
RSVP by 12 PM on Wednesday, May 17 to help us prepare name tags properly and it can be closed before once seats are filled. Simultaneous translation is available.
